Sports equipment and special baggage

We accept special baggage on all our flights. Special baggage items are always transported subject to availability. The earlier we receive your request, the greater the chance that we can take on board your special items and equipment.

Compared to normally checked baggage, other rules apply for booking special baggage. We may charge an extra fee for special baggage, depending on the type of special baggage.

What is special baggage?

Special baggage is generally considered to be items that are larger and / or heavier than normal standard baggage, with a maximum weight of 20 kg and outer dimensions of 158 cm (length + width + height).

If your sports equipment or other special baggage falls under these restrictions, it is generally considered to be normal standard luggage. However, some items can be considered as special luggage items even if they are below the standard restrictions.

When you travel with sports equipment or special baggage, you need to follow our packing requirements and recommendations. Failure to do so may mean that your luggage cannot be loaded on board or will be checked in as an item with limited liability, where the airline cannot be held liable for any damage that may occur.

How do I add special baggage to my booking?

Special baggage and sports equipment must be booked in advance and can be booked in connection with your ticket booking or at a later time via ”[link] My bookings”. Some special baggage has restrictions on the number we accept on board and then you need to get a confirmation from our customer service that the booking is ok.

The fees for extra and special baggage are listed [link] here. Please note that these fees are non-refundable.
